Saterbak has been an integral leader in Mille Lacs County, and other organizations, advocating for better policy relating to the prosecution of child abuse, domestic assault, and sexual assault crimes. She also advocates strongly for continued peer review of child abuse investigations and prosecutions to further develop local expertise in this discipline.

In addition to review by peers, Saterbak has devoted significant effort to educating the local bench on legislation and policies relating to domestic abuse, forensic interviewing, expert testimony in court, and research relating to victim reporting and recantation.

Saterbak has teamed with local representatives from law enforcement and community services to advocate for basic and advanced interview training for social workers, investigators and attorneys responding to and working with victims in Mille Lacs County. Through her leadership, the Mille Lacs County Attorney’s Office is per capita one of the most highly trained offices in the discipline of forensic interviewing of children and vulnerable adults in Minnesota.
