A new restaurant called Neighbors On the Rum opened in Princeton on Nov. 27.

The restaurant and saloon is owned by Joe and Tama Holtz.

Located about a block north of the city’s roundabout, the building sat vacant after Northern Attitudes Bar & Grill closed. The Holtzes have done extensive interior work in the building, including replacing equipment and creating a lighter color scheme.

The menu now includes hamburgers and sandwiches, plus weekend breakfasts. Joe Holtz said he will be expanding the menu in a month or so to include hand-cut steaks, ribs, walleye, sirloin and more. He said the sauces and coleslaw are made on-site and that the hamburgers are never made from frozen patties. The bar has an expanded beer selection. The business will be open seven days per week.

The couple owns a second Neighbors Eatery & Saloon at Albertville.
