Honored for his all-around career at Princeton High School, senior Gino Fraboni was selected as the Section 7AA boys representative in the Triple “A” Award contest. He is the son of Lisa Fobbe and Americo Fraboni.
The Minnesota State High School League-sponsored Triple “A” Award recognizes high school seniors who have excelled in academics, arts and athletics during their careers in school.
Fraboni’s layered involvement at Princeton includes being a four-year member of the band where he earned two “excellent” and two “superior” awards in the MSHSL solo contests. He is a four-year member of the choir, earning All-State Choir awards two years. He also is a four-year member of the speech team, where he reached the state meet twice and was a state finalist his sophomore year.
Fraboni’s main sport at PHS is swimming, and he is been on the varsity squad the past six winters. He also participated in football, track and tennis.
Gino’s plans after high school are to attend Gustavus Adolphus College to pursue a degree in communications, with plans to continue in the arts there in speech, choir and theater.
Veronica Witikko, of Hermantown, was picked as the 7AA girls Triple “A” winner. She and Fraboni will attend a banquet on March 15, and then they will join the rest of the section nominees for the Class AA Triple “A” Award selection at the Class AA state boys basketball finals later that afternoon.
