Alvera Stevenson

Alvera Rose Stevenson, age 86, passed away on Jan. 1st, 2014 at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton.
Alvera was born in Iowa on Oct. 16, 1927 to Walter & Christina (Damman) Hansen. She grew up in the rural Santiago area. Alvera attend Princeton High School and married Earl Stevenson Jr. on Oct. 12, 1946.
They lived just north of Elk Lake where they farmed for over 50 years. In August of 2003, Alvera moved to her present address just west of Princeton. She was active in the Bethany Lutheran Church as a charter member serving in many offices. She was also involved in Elk Lakes Ladies Club.
Alvera enjoyed gardening and spent many hours working the land. Alvera loved having coffee and cookies around her kitchen table with friends and family.
Alvera is survived by daughters Wilma Rosenberg and Teresa (Dave) Wiedewitsch and son, Chet Stevenson. Alvera has six grandchildren: Dave Rosenberg, Jay (Stacy) Wiedewitsch, Josh Wiedewitsch, Jessie (Zac) Gustafson, Taylor Stevenson and Kate Stevenson and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, several family members, and husband, Earl Stevenson Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Princeton. Rev. Jerome Gernander will officiate and burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery in Zimmerman.
Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church in Princeton.
