Glen Stark

Glen Wesley Stark, age 90, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Glen was born in Superior, Wis. on July 3, 1923 to Harry and Wendla (Ryberg) Stark and grew up on a farm in rural Ogilvie. He attended Lewis Lake County School and graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1941 where he lettered in baseball. After graduation Glen attended welding school in Duluth and worked for a ship building company in Superior. Glen joined the U.S. Navy on Jan. 10, 1944 during World War II. He served in the European and Pacific theatres.
Glen married Helen June Nordin on June 3, 1944 at the Brunswick Immanuel Church Parsonage. He owned a welding shop in Glendorado and worked at Vics Manufacturing for 30 years in Minneapolis.
Glen enjoyed spending time with his family at their lake home on Mille Lacs Lake and and had many good years of fishing. Glen retired in 1988 and enjoyed traveling, fishing and winters in Arizona. He was a member of the VFW Post 806 and The American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; children: Carol Buckman of Phoenix, Ariz. and Douglas (Ruth Foanne) Stark of Fifty Lakes; grandchildren Andrea (Daniel) Weber, Joanna Buckman, Jennifer (Ryan) Parker, Dana (David) Briese, Casey Stark and Byron Stark; siblings, Ronald (Marian) Stark of Mora and Ervin (Joan) Stark of Seminole, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
