PHS girls go 0-for-4 on courts

Princeton girls hoops dropped its opening game on the Mississippi 8 schedule when visiting Cambridge-Isanti won 67-55 Jan. 10. It was a 40-39 game in the second half when the Bluejackets took off on an 11-2 run to create distance.

Center Jenna Doyle had a strong overall night with 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Tigers. Danielle Chmielewski finished with 16 points, with more PHS scoring coming from Anna Oakes (8), Taylor Laabs (5) and Haley Sandin.

• Monticello, ranked 9th in Class AAA, pulled away in the second half to defeat visiting Princeton 68-53 Jan. 13. Chmielewski and Sandin led PHS with 16 and 13 points. Contributing more scoring were Ashley Schramel (9), Oakes (6) and Doyle (4).

• On Saturday, Princeton dropped a 70-59 match at Section 7AAA partner Grand Rapids in a game rescheduled from December. Chisago Lakes then defeated the Tigers 71-56 in a Jan. 14 Mississippi match-up.
