Arnon Lundborg

Arnon Lene Lundborg, 81, passed away on Feb. 12, 2014.
Arnon Lundborg was born on February 26,1932, to Arlie and Esther Lundborg in Batavia, Ill. While attending Purdue University majoring in chemical engineering, he married Marian Erickson on December 20,1952.
Marian and Arnon met at a Luther League convention in Duluth when they were in high school. They had a long distance courtship without texts, Skype, Facebook, or email.
After graduation from Purdue, Arnon entered the Army Chemical Corps for two years, serving as a first leiutenant. Following the birth of their two sons, Blair and Brian, and 10 years work with Archer Daniels Midland Continental Oil, Arnon answered the call to ordained ministry.
The family moved to Minneapolis while Arnon attended Northwestern Seminary. He served Luther Memorial Church in Minneapolis, Trinity Lutheran in Princeton, and then as pastor/developer of Hosanna Lutheran in Mandeville, La.
After his retirement in 1994, Arnie and Marian gave their possessions to their children and became full time RVers. After three years on the road, Arnon came out of retirement to serve Bethlehem Lutheran in Round Top, Texas. In 2001, Arnon retired again and settled in Brenham, Texas, where he and Marian were active participants in the lives of their grandchildren, Meghan, Matt, and Kate. In 2005, Arnon and Marian moved to Lexington, Ky. to be with Brian and Ruth and their three children, Sam, Josh, and Emily.
Arnon has blessed his family with his love and example of Christian service and by officiating at baptisms of many of his grandchildren, and the marriage of his sons and granddaughter, Meghan, to Dan Watkins. He was present at the baptism of his first great grandchild, Ben.
Arnon had a passion for woodworking, photography, computers, and always…Marian. Well done, good and faithful servant.
The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Lexington, Ky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to ELCA Hunger.
