Edward Trunk

Edward A. Trunk, age 85, of Princeton, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.
Ed was born March 15, 1928 in Princeton, the son of Ernest and Gertrude (Heath) Trunk. Ed graduated from Princeton High School and following graduation, immediately joined the United States Army. He also served our country in the United States Air Force. Ed was united in marriage to Marvel Roberts on September 1, 1956 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Princeton.
Ed was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus and Telephone Pioneers. He volunteered many hours at the Sherburne Wildlife Refuge, St. Cloud VA and was a very dedicated member of Christ Our Light Catholic Parish. Ed was very active in the Princeton community and enjoyed keeping busy with social activities. Ed enjoyed the outdoors, going on walks, wildflowers, birds and anything else to do with nature. He had a great sense of humor and very much enjoyed playing cribbage and having coffee at K-Bob and Merlins in the mornings.
Ed will be remembered as a very dependable, dedicated and practical man, among many other things. He always made sure his family was taken care of. He will be dearly missed.
Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marvel; children Vicki Bergeron, Bev (Dave) Huntley, Diane (Mark) Kechel, Brian (Lisa) Trunk and Lisa Flesher; grandchildren Jared, Katie, Kelsey, Rachel, Jacob, Jeremy, Emily and Abby; great-grandchildren Corbin and Conor; siblings Helen Bergmann, Robert (Phyllis) Trunk, Joe (Kay) Trunk, David (Marlene) Trunk and Kathryn (Whalen) Stay; sister-in-law Mildred Trunk; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Loren, Clair, Delores, Mary and Adeline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish North Campus in Princeton.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, with parish prayers beginning at 7 p.m. at the church. Father Kevin Anderson will preside and interment will be in St. Edwards Catholic Cemetery in Princeton. Military Honors will be provided by Princeton American Legion Post 216.
