Gary Becker

Gary Gene Becker, age 73, of Princeton, died on Feb. 23, 2014, in Minneapolis.
Gary, son of Marvin and Marie (Berry) Becker, was born November 11, 1940, in Sauk Centre. Gary was united in marriage to Becky Kissner on June 13, 1969 in Saint Cloud.
Gary joined the United States Air Force and was a member of the National Guard. He worked as an engineer for Honeywell for 30-plus years, retiring at age 57. He lived for the outdoors; he found happiness in taking walks, working at the farm or in his yard and traveling.
Gary was an avid motorcyclist and had a love for his pugs. Gary enjoyed treating his children to chocolate pudding and Dairy Queen. Gary also enjoyed teaching his children to water ski and ice skate.
His greatest joys in the years to follow were his grandchildren and his family. Gary enjoyed time on the Root River in Lansboro. His favorite activities were biking, canoeing and watching his children and grandchildren kayaking. Gary would cheer on and support them in any way he could. Gary was always ready to lend a helping hand. Spring was Gary?s favorite time of the year. He will be dearly missed.
Gary is survived by his wife, Becky; children Eric Becker (Heidi Halverson), Kristina (Todd) Ege; grandchildren Donovan and Morgan Ege, Tyler Becker and step-grandson Nicholas Baker; siblings Richard (Nancy) Becker, Marlys Bragg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Dennis Becker; niece Carrie Becker; father in law, Manuel Kissner; and many aunts and uncles.
A Memorial service will be held in the spring at Trinity Lutheran Church in Princeton. Interment will be at Berry Cemetery in Princeton.
Memorials preferred to the American Lung Association and The Mille Lacs County Humane Society.
Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton.
