Playoff updates for Tiger Wrestling, Girls Hockey

Princeton Wrestling opened the 2014 playoff season on a strong note, defeating North Branch 48-26 Feb. 11 at Chisago Lakes H.S. The Tigers then took on Section 7AA No. 1 South Milaca, and the Wolves advanced with a 40-23 victory in the quarterfinals.

Also advancing out of the 7AA South was No. 3 Mora who defeated No. 2 Chisago Lakes 36-30. Milaca goes against Hibbing, and Mora gets North No. 1 Grand Rapids when the section semifinals and finals are held at Cloquet Feb. 14.

Section 5A Girls Hockey

In the Feb. 11 Section 5A semifinals at Parade Ice Garden, No. 2 seed Breck ended No. 6 Princeton-Becker-Big Lake’s season with a 6-2 win. Breck will play top-seed Blake in the Feb. 13 championship after the Bears defeated Mound-Westonka 5-1 in the first semifinals.
