Police Report: Week of Feb. 13

The Princeton Police Department responded to the listed calls during Feb. 2-10, 2014. The listed times are when the calls were received and not necessarily when the incidents occurred. Compiled by Joel Stottrup.

Monday, Feb. 3

2:09 a.m. Police observed the first of four parking violations that day. Police left written warnings on three vehicles that they were in violation of the seasonal parking ordinance. Police had a fourth vehicle towed that had been parked in a city lot in excess of 72 hours, had been previously cited and that public works requested be removed for snow plowing.

5:51 a.m. Possible suicidal party reported.

11:47 a.m. Assisted male who had fallen. Male was sitting on roadside between two vehicles near the post office and reported leg and knee pain.

1:25 p.m. Counterfeit $10 bill received at the north Casey’s General Store.

Tuesday, Feb. 4

3:48 a.m. Report of suspicious vehicle in the industrial park/airport area. Police were unable to locate.

5:08 a.m. Checked on driver slumped over in vehicle in Walmart parking lot at 300 21st Ave., and arrested a male and a female on outstanding warrants and transported to the Mille Lacs County Jail.

11:33 a.m. Report of possible animal neglect.

7:34 p.m. Report of out-of-control juvenile. Juvenile calm when police arrived.

8:32 p.m. Disturbance reported at residence. Police mediated situation and female found a place to stay for the night.

Wednesday, Feb. 5

12:14 a.m. Stopped vehicle for obstructed plate and cracked windshield and cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

8:18 p.m. Complaint of trailer shooting sparks while being pulled down the highway. State Patrol notified, who cited the driver and towed the vehicle for no insurance and other violations.

9:53 p.m. Phone threats reported and request made for extra patrol.

Thursday, Feb. 6

2:58 p.m. Report of out-of-control juvenile.

11:23 p.m. Stopped vehicle and cited driver for speeding, expired registration, driving after suspension and no proof of insurance.

Friday, Feb. 7

9:59 a.m. Report at high school of a juvenile stealing another juvenile’s shoes. Report to be sent to probation office.

8:31 p.m. Theft at Walmart of several items including a 12-pack of pop and some car stereo equipment by three males. One male left in a small pickup while the other two left in a small blue car. No suspects.

9 p.m. Complaint of loud music. Resident agreed to turn music down.

11:58 p.m. Police were asked by Madre Loca to remove three persons from the Madre Loca property. The three were reported burning items.

Saturday, Feb. 8

1:38 a.m. Stopped vehicle for speeding and going over the center line. Arrested driver Ryan McLaughlin, 31, on suspicion of DWI. The preliminary breath test reading was .217.

10:29 p.m. Suspect observed person shoplifting nearly $294 worth of goods at Walmart. Suspect cited for misdemeanor theft.

Sunday, Feb. 9

1:53 p.m. Woman reported that while she was at Walmart the night before, someone hit her vehicle and broke off a side mirror, and that an unidentified witness took down the license plate number and left a message on the woman’s car. Police left the message with the registered owner of suspect vehicle.

2:37 p.m. Male reported being forcefully pushed out of a local restaurant after complaining about a hair in his food. Owner told police that the person was intoxicated and cursing and was getting louder in presence of families and that all the owner did was escort the man out. Police said the owner stated that he felt he would be able to talk to the complainant the next day and straighten things out.

2:57 p.m. The north Casey’s station reported someone not paying for $35 in fuel.
