The Princeton Police Department received the following reports March 17–24. The call times are not necessarily when the incidents occurred, but when the reports were made. Compiled by Joel Stottrup.
Monday, March 17
8:52 a.m. Abandoned snowmobile reported at 12th Street and Willow Circle.
12:26 p.m. Unlocked garage on Fourth Avenue South entered and some tools stolen.
2:09 p.m. Theft reported of lock box and Dri-Eaz dehumidifier.
6:19 p.m. Assault complaint. Suspect transported by ambulance to Fairview Northland and placed on 72-hour medical hold. Report will be sent for charges.
Tuesday, March 18
9:37 a.m. Altercation between two juvenile males at high school. School handled discipline.
5:18 p.m. Male, 22 arrested, and female, 22, cited for theft of $10.15 in items from Family Dollar.
Wednesday, March 19
12:15 p.m. Domestic assault reported. Male, 27, arrested.
2:27 p.m. High School staff member turned over chewing tobacco that student had possessed. Citation to be issued.
Thursday, March 20
11:10 a.m. A Monster University bag with 4 DS games and some Pokeman cards found and taken to police department.
1:23 p.m. Juvenile at high school reported that her ring was taken from a restroom on March 11 after she left it there. Under investigation.
2:02 p.m. Report of .22 caliber round found in parking lot at Walmart and that finder threw it into a trash can in front of store. Store associate thought the finder had told her he had found a loaded handgun. The finder clarified that it was only a round. Loss prevention personnel searched through trash and were unable to find it.
3:52 p.m. Report made that an adult struck a seven-year-old in the hip at South Elementary. Under investigation.
4:04 p.m. Marijuana pipe found on a bus. Officer disposed of pipe.
5:17 p.m. Report of vehicle having driven around school bus that had lights activated.
6:22 p.m. Report of possible child neglect.
6:59 p.m. Made felony arrest on warrant for Mille Lacs County.
Friday, March 21
10:28 a.m. Individual reported finding pit bull type dog on Rum Rive Drive, and that the person following dog home and knocked on door. Individual said that when he advised the person in the home that he may want to chain the dog up, the person became angry and started coming after him, upon which the individuald got in car and left.
11:05 a.m. Officer(s) mediated verbal argument.
8:04 p.m. VFW club bartender requested police remove male and three females from premises. Officer located male, 53, outside and arrested him on outstanding warrants and spoke with the females who agreed to leave.
Saturday, March 22
Walmart reported that someone attempted to steal more than $500 worth of merchandise. Suspect left the merchandise in store and ran off. Authorities located and detained suspect, who was verbally trespassed from Walmart. Suspect taken to Rum River Motel to call and wait for ride.
5:42 a.m. Walmart reported a vehicle had been sitting in parking lot for three hours with engine running. Officer spoke with occupant who had been sleeping. Occupant reported he left his house for the night after argument with girlfriend.
3 p.m. Little Dukes reported gas drive-off.
3:22 p.m. Report of unruly person inside Walmart. Officer spoke with person and advised that he leave, upon which person left without incident.
6:20 p.m. Woman complained that she was being harassed by someone posting news articles on windows about her criminal history.
Sunday, March 23
11:13 p.m. Disturbance reported on 100 block of 18th Avenue North.
12:31 p.m. Theft complaint made on 500 block of Rum River Drive South.
7:16 p.m. Report of a female shoplifter at Walmart. Located and detained suspect and recovered just over $172 in merchancdise. Citation issued for theft and suspect released.
