Minor injuries reported in Monday night car-ATV crash

Two people reported minor injuries after an ATV hit a vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21 on 70th Street at 160th Avenue in rural Princeton.
Jonathan G. Hanson, 20, of Foley, was westbound on 70th Street on an ATV and pulled out onto 160th Avenue where he hit a northbound vehicle driven by Ricky James Bleed of Foley.
Hanson told responding deputies that he was traveling on 70th Street with a 16-year-old female passenger of Milaca on the ATV and experienced a glare in his windshield due to the low sun. By the time he saw a stop sign at the intersection, it was too late and he hit the Bleed vehicle.
Bleed braked and unsuccessfully swerved in an attempt to avoid the vehicle. The ATV struck the passenger side door of the Bleed vehicle and came to rest in the northwest ditch. The ATV sustained front end damage.
Hanson sustained left side hip pain. The female passenger complained of back and arm pain.
