Princeton Police Report: April 21-May 4

The following reports were made to the Princeton Police Department April 21-May 4. The listed times are when the reports were filed and not necessarily when incidents occurred. Compiled by Joel Stottrup.

Monday, April 21

8:09 a.m. Purse found in wooded area north of bus garage and returned to owner.

10:05 a.m. Police advised person sleeping in parked vehicle in private lot to leave.

2:31 p.m. $50 cash reported missing.

2:41 p.m. Theft of two sub-woofers and one amplifier reported taken from apartment at 923 W. Branch St. for $260 loss.

3:33 p.m. Stray cat caught in live trap. Impounded cat.

Tuesday, April 22

12:51 p.m. Arrested and jailed individual on Hennepin County warrant for theft.

5:37 p.m. Disturbance/possible domestic situation. Spoke with male and female subjects. Report to be sent to Mille Lacs County community and veterans services department.

7:50 p.m. Stopped person on bicycle on 21st Avenue bound for airport and informed the bicycler that the route was not a short cut to the south end of the city.

8:02 p.m. Seized and disposed of pills that woman found in her son’s pockets. Police said the boy had found the pills behind the teen center.

10:53 p.m. Stopped driver for driving over the fog line and cited for driving after suspension. Report to be sent concerning probation violation involving  passengers.

11:57 p.m. Stopped vehicle for driving conduct and cited driver for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

Wednesday, April 23

4:25 a.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County with verbal disturbance – mediated issue until deputy arrived.

8:25 p.m. Made arrest for probation violation.

3:58 p.m. Arranged for someone to take in juvenile until guardians could be located so juvenile could return home.

4:15 p.m. Property recovered in mailbox.

5:10 p.m. Cited driver for offenses, including revocation.

6:34 p.m. Subject trespassed from library after subject observed sleeping inside the library again for hours.

7:21 p.m. Report of criminal damage to property involving subject “mudding in campground.”

Friday, April 25

5:11 a.m. Relayed message to driver of vehicle with four occupants to leave parking lot. Manager at property stated the vehicle had been coming and going and hanging around the parking lot since 11 p.m.

3:13 p.m. Complaint of a large population of cats at residence on Third Street South. Officer observed 20 cats lounging around the front yard and deck area.

6:56 p.m. Homeowner burning yard debris in culvert. Advised homeowner that the burning violated city ordinance.

7:18 p.m. Suspicious activity reported at 511 Ice Arena Drive. Officer advised person that he is not allowed to park in private lots without permission from owners.

8:55 p.m. Wal-mart reported subject having walked out with merchandise.

11:06 p.m. Driver swerved to miss animal and struck center curb median and two median road signs in area of Highway 95 and West Branch Street. Car inoperable and driver left it parked on shoulder. Another car drove over the road debris and sustained flat tire. Officer assisted the driver with changing tire.

Saturday, April 26

8:08 a.m. Report of theft of/missing narcotics.

7:42 p.m. Suspicious activity reported by Wal-mart of subject running out of store with possible items in pants.

Sunday, April 27

10:37 p.m. Fraud-forgery-scam reported involving $500.

 Monday, April 28

9:10 a.m. Resident reported receiving information that his Social Security number had been used to file a fax return and that the IRS was investigating it and was advised to file a police report.

1:09 p.m. Black smoke coming from rear of residence. Located inoperable gas grill containing wire. Officer received report that the grill had been used to burn rubber off copper wire. Fire department responded.

7:30 p.m. Found property – digital scale. A business reported someone having brought box of clothes in with the item in it.

Tuesday, April 29

4:24 a.m. Window smashed out on car at 702 Third St. N. area between 11 p.m. on April 28 and time of call on April 29. Stereo deck and various audio equipment with estimated $590 value stolen, and damage to car estimated at $100.

12:23 p.m. Gas drive-off at Casey’s General Store south for $50 loss.

5 p.m. Possible criminal sexual conduct reported.

6:14 p.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County with motor vehicle accident with minor injuries at Highway 169 and 55th Street.

Wednesday, April 30

2:27 p.m. Mother of person suspected of stealing iPod at school three weeks ago returned iPod to victim. Report to be sent to county attorney to review for possible charges.

2:48 p.m. Student at high school in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Citation to be issued.

11:55 p.m. Stopped vehicle for equipment violation, and littering. Located small amount of marijuana and one pill. Charges will be in long form for fifth-degree controlled substance.

Thursday, May 1

11:04 p.m. Baby squirrel fell from nest and taken to safe location.

Friday, May 2

3:25 a.m. Stopped vehicle for speeding. Arrested male for Stearns County warrant, and cited driver for driving after revocation.

10:22 a.m. Report of money taken from locker at high school. Citation to be issued.

11:04 a.m. Feral cat issue. Options advised.

2:12 p.m. Report of camera taken from locked locker at high school.

7:39 p.m. Report of possible criminal sexual conduct.

Saturday, May 3

3:37 a.m. Male complained that female is trying to irritate him by playing loud music and it’s an ongoing issue. Male said he wanted to go to bed. Officer reported female saying she is “going to irritate him until she moves out in 30 days.” Officer informed them of their options.

7:11 a.m. Assault complaint. Woman arrested and booked into the Mille Lacs County Jail.

Sunday, May 4

1:44 a.m. Complaint of vehicle driving in and out of ditch. Officer stopped vehicle, administered tests and arrested Jacob Leslie Brekke, 32, on probable cause for DWI. Driver submitted to urine test and booked into jail for fourth-degree DWI for release on personal recognizance when sober. Formal charges pending urine test analysis.

6:43 p.m. Theft reported of dryer sheets and razors from Family Dollar.
