Dolores Grace Ackert, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, at her Surprise, Arizona home with her family by her side.
Dolores was born December 22, 1932, in a small farmhouse in Princeton, Minn, to Lena and Edward Hoeft.
She graduated from Princeton High School in 1951 and was married to Norman Ackert on February 21, 1953. Dolores worked for many years as a senior bookkeeper for 3M until she took an early retirement in 1989. During that time they lived in White Bear Lake, Grant Township and Oakdale, Minn.
After retiring, she traveled the country with Norman in their motorhome. In 1998, they settled & lived as “snowbirds” in Arizona until her passing.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 61 years, Norman;  her sister, Arlene (David) Lindgren; her two children, Sheri Ackert, and David (Karen) Ackert; her four grandchildren, Megan (Adam), Alyssa (Jon), David Jr. & Kaitlin; & one great-grandchild, Ellie.
A celebration of her life will be held at American Legion Post 435, 6501 Portland Ave in Richfield on Sunday, July 13th starting at 2:30pm. All are welcome. A private internment will be held at Fort Snelling on Monday, July 14th at 10am for immediate family.
