The Princeton clay target team gathered 33 shooters for last weekend’s championship meet at the Alexandria Gun Club. The Tiger varsity squad finished its season by placing fifth out of 25 teams competing.
Posting the top scores for the varsity were Austin Burghuis and Riley Broding with 94 out of 100. Those two had one perfect 25-for-25 round, with more Princeton trap shooters posting one 25 round being Bryce Birkholz, Silas Reek, Preston Burch and Jack Radke.
The Princeton JV placed third out of 28 teams at Alexandria, with Birkholz leading with his 93-of-100. The Princeton Novice squad was seventh out of 25, led by Michael Murphy and JC Westling posting 61-of-75.
“We had an excellent day! Lots of sun and very little wind made for a wonderful day to shoot trap,” described Coach Michelle Cunningham. “Many of our athletes had personal-best scores. With the overall scores of our shooters, we have a lot to look forward to in the future.”
