Heddy Becker

Heddy Teresa Becker (Szcap) died suddenly at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis on June 27, 2014. She was 87 years old.
She was born Oct. 28, 1926 in Turek, Poland to Maksymilian and Jofia Szcap. She was the middle child with having an older brother Stefan and a younger sister Irena. At the age of 12 she was taken from her family and put into a concentration camp. After being a Holocust survivor Heddy met the love of her life. She met Allen Becker in Germany and they started their life together in America in 1948.
Heddy and Allen were united in marriage Dec. 16, 1947. They had 3 children. They resided in Princeton, Minn. for 26 years and then moved to Ogilvie, Minn. where they finished the remainder of their lives.
Heddy was a very loving, caring, and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved gardening, playing 500, her birds and cats, but most of all her family. There wasnt a person who didnt love sitting and listening to all the stories she loved to tell.
Heddy was preceded in death by parents Maksymilian and Jofia Szcap, husband Allen Becker, brother Stefan, and sister Irena.
She is survived by her three children Roy (Bonnie) Becker of Blaine, Minn., Joyce (Roger) Durbin of Ogilvie, Minn. and Steve (Lois) Becker of Princeton, Minn.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Heddy will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lewis Lake Covenant Church, 1030 Grand St., Ogilvie, MN 56358.
