Leroy Mesko

Leroy John Mesko of Princeton, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud on August, 6, 2014.
He was born August 15, 1932 in Elk River, MN, to Joseph and Irma Mesko. He graduated from high school in St. Joseph County, IN in 1950. He was married to Frances Mesko on January 16, 1954 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Princeton. He served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War, and finished his college education at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, graduating in 1956, with a degree in Agricultural Education.
He held several teaching and sales jobs in his career, and began farming in the Milaca area in 1963. He was known to fix almost anything mechanical or electrical often reusing old parts or making new ones. He enjoyed storytelling and took the actual truths of many stories with him when he died.
He is survived by his children, Tony of Springfield, MO, Marsha (Al) Lunt of Fayetteville, NC, Mitch (Stephanie) of St. Cloud, MN, John (Lisa) of Princeton, MN; grandchildren, Jessica (John) Sanders of Charlotte, NC, Gabrielle and Sarah Mesko of Princeton, MN; sisters, Irene (Joe) Quast of Big Lake and Betty Jo (Leo) Steinhagen of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fran.
A Graveside Memorial will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton.
