Princeton Police Report: Week of July 31

The following calls were made to the Princeton Police Department July 21-28. The listed times are when the calls were received and not necessarily when incidents occurred. This report was compiled by Joel Stottrup.

 

Monday, July 21

7:36 a.m. Stood by for property exchange between two individuals who were upset with each other. Some items were broken and clothing had been burned inside a charcoal grill.

11:42 a.m. Complaint of someone dumping items in garbage receptacle.

4:52 p.m. Theft of DeWalt drill from truck for $75 loss.

10:22 p.m. Threats complaint.

Tuesday, July 22

10:17 a.m. Paint damage on city’s skating rink warming house next to civic center.

10:23 a.m. Garage spray painted, causing estimated $70 damage.

Wednesday, July 23

12 a.m. Someone riding bicycle tripped over a tent that was occupied in a backyard residence. Male who had been on bicycle ran off and left in vehicle, leaving bicycle behind, which was placed in police station. Individual came into the yard a few hours later looking for the bicycle.

1:30 a.m. Confiscated white pill found on store floor.

1:31 a.m. Arrested and booked into jail Kody Richard Ott, 24, on probable cause of third-degree DWI. Charges pending test results.

9:09 a.m. Princeton Public Utilities reported theft and criminal damage to property at Fourth Street S. and Rum River Drive for loss of $2,495. Copper wire stolen.

7 p.m. Two-vehicle collision without injury at Wal-Mart parking lot. One driver cited for no proof of insurance.

8:15 p.m. Criminal damage to property – large flower pot broken at residence. Officer mediated situation and individuals agreed to repair the item.

Thursday, July 24

12:42 a.m. Assisted with burglary call in Milaca area. Police dog use canceled upon arrival.

1:24 a.m. Female walking down Highway 95 in the dark. Officer located and suggested safe place to walk.

1:33 a.m. Arrested Jose Adan Bernal-Morales, 31, on probably cause of DWI. Charges pending blood test.

4:31 a.m. Disturbance – Report of female held down and injected with meth. Arrested two males, ages 22 and 29.

4:04 p.m. Report of possible burglary in progress at vacant residence. Located vehicle in garage and two individuals who had been inside the residence. Both detained. Arrested one of the males, 29, for second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property. Vehicle towed.

8:07 p.m. Disturbance. Male fled the New China Chinese Restaurant without paying $9.90 for meal. Last seen in vehicle heading west on Highway 95.

Friday, July 25

2:27 p.m. Person got out of van and was witnessed running across street without looking and running into a southbound vehicle on Rum River Drive S.

6:27 p.m. Mediated dispute between neighbors and advised.

Saturday, July 26

5:21 a.m. Arrested male on gross misdemeanor warrant and order-for-protection violation.

9:16 a.m. Assisted State Patrol with traffic stop at Highway 169 and 55th Street. Vehicle and driver matched description of a burglary suspect from Sherburne county. Driver identified and allowed to leave.

2:22 p.m. Theft reported. Complainant stated that she gave a male with possible name of Dan a ride from St. Cloud to Wal-Mart lot in Princeton and later noticed her Nexus 4 cellphone valued at $100 was missing.

4:22 p.m. Animal complaint. Report of two dogs running loose. Officer transported the dogs to vet clinic for impoundment but was only able to impound one of them because the biggest of the two dogs was uncooperative. Officer placed that dog back in kennel of residence and left tag at residence regarding allowing dogs to run loose and not giving the dogs proper care. Slight damage to back seat of squad car from the dog.

Sunday, July 27

12:15 a.m. Disturbance at Neighbors Eatery & Saloon. One male removed.

11:41 p.m. Disturbance at Fairview Northland Medical Center – unruly, intoxicated person.
