Irene Dorothea Annie Frank, age 102 years and 8 months, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Princeton Elim Care and Rehab Center.
Irene Dorothea Annie Frank was born on March 5, 1910, in Gaylord, to Edward and Lydia (Becker) Becker. On April 27, 1932, Irene was united in marriage with George W. Frank in Redwood Falls.
In 1941, they moved from Lamberton to Princeton. Irene worked at the Knotty Pine Café in Princeton for two to three years and from 1966– 1971, she was employed as a housekeeper at the Elim Home.
Irene was a hard working woman, strong willed and independent. She lived life with lots of courage and a strong faith. Irene got along with everyone. Irene enjoyed baking, as her children know; loved her cats, reading, doing Seek & Find word puzzles, quilting, sewing and playing cards: 500 and Solitaire. Irene loved sharing stories of the “good old days.” On Irene’s 100th birthday, she took a ride on a four-wheeler.
Irene is survived by her children Marilyn (Lloyd) Bruce of Princeton, Carole (Bob) Raes of Linwood; brother Dwayne Becker of St. Peter; daughter-in-law Marion Frank; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded by her husband George W. Frank, son LeRoy Frank, three brothers, a sister and parents.
A funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 16 at Freshwaters United Methodist Church, River Campus, Princeton. Interment was in Berry Cemetery, Princeton.
